MtGox CEO Mark Karpeles Crawls Out of Hole

In his first tweets since the MtGox meltdown, the Twitter account of MtGox CEO Mark Karpeles returned to life today. Until now, the last activity on the account had been on Dec 29th, months before his Bitcoin exchange scandalously crashed and burned.

The first tweet came around 7 hours ago with the statement, “What would we do without busybox”.

That tweet was followed shortly thereafter with a beautiful photograph of the Tokyo sunset.

According to its website, BusyBox combines tiny versions of many common UNIX utilities into a single small executable and provides replacements for most current utilities.

MtGox was a Bitcoin exchange based in Tokyo, Japan. It was launched in July 2010, and by 2013 was handling 70% of all Bitcoin transactions. In February 2014, the company suspended trading, closed its website and exchange service, and filed for bankruptcy protection.

Do you think it’s time to forgive Karpeles for his missteps in managing the legendary bitcoin exchange? Log in below using your favorite social network and let us know what you think.
